Chambord liqueur's recipe is said to date back to 1685, when Louis XIV visited Château Chambord. Legend states that the king was introduced to a Raspberry liqueur that local nobility crafted by infusing raspberries in fine spirits.
The modern incarnation of Chambord was developed in the 1980s but draws inspiration from these Loire Valley Raspberry liqueurs. The name and distinctive bottle design pay homage to the Château de Chambord, with its spherical shape reminiscent of the château's towers and ornate gold lettering reflecting royal luxury.
